Finally, spring is here. Even though this winter was very mild in comparison, I'm ready for warm weather to be here to stay! And with the warm weather, outdoorfamily sessions.
I probably say this a lot, but I love photographing families, particularly outside in this gorgeous fields at sunset.
This particular family portrait session was one of my favorites. We went out to Leesburg to my favorite location for outdoor portraits on a beautiful and unseasonably warm October evening. The sun was perfect, it was 80 degrees, all in all, the most perfect night... until it wasn't. The skies turned on us rather quickly this evening, and our beautiful glowy sky turned dark and ominous faster than I have ever seen before. Thankfully, that happened at the end of our session. But it was pretty incredible to see.
But the storm rolling in, didn't damper this beautiful family's mood. These 2 little guys were so excited to explore the fields. And their father was having just as much fun. The highlight for the boys may have been when Dad caught a cricket. Sweet Cole was my little goof ball, hamming it up for the camera. And the very serious James even cracked a few smiles while we were there.
I know that Mom was so happy to have the beautiful sun-filled family session she dreamed of and these gorgeous images are proudly displayed throughout their house.
I'm glad the rain held off until we said our goodbyes and shut our car doors. Which is exactly when the skies opened and it began to pour. Nothing like a late October thunderstorm!
